Commitment is defined as a willingness to give your time and energy to something that you believe in, or a promise or firm decision to do something.
Involvement is defined as the fact or condition of being involved with or participating in something.
Union Made In Heaven
Unfortunately in the US, the divorce rate is somewhere between 40 - 50 percent. But for the rest, the Holy Union is still in full force. That marriage between the two culminates from a lot of steps leading up to that moment.
It starts out with a spark of attraction that catches your attention. That spark turns into a curiosity that drives you to take a deeper investigation. If what you're seeing is a possibility, you need to find out if your ideas are real or imaginary.
This leads to the dating process. The interactions during that phase will prove whether or not a healthy partnership can develop. If that progresses further, then it could lead to the commitment of the Holy Union called marriage.
Now you are in a committed relationship in which you face this world hand in hand with your mate.
What Happened?
Things were going great at first, then after seven years or so, we are sitting in the park but don't have anything to say. What happened?
You've grown apart, and are not as involved with each other enough to actively appreciate one another. The commitment is there, but you are not working together to meet a common goal. It's just not working.
You have a few choices. You can take this opportunity to make a spit or you can rekindle that spark and give it another shot.
Commitment and Involvement
The Super Achiever who wants to do anything exceptional in life will follow a similar path. There is something that attracts you enough for you to take the next step to investigate further to see if there could be something to it.
Maybe it's becoming an entrepreneur, a lawyer, a professional athlete or anything that you feel you might be able to succeed. You start to date the concept by spending time with it until you can really see if it has potential. If things check out, you are ready for that next step.
This next step is where you make your commitment. A holy union is created between your active participation in the activity and your commitment to take it as your life's undertaking.
Do you willingly swear to give up your time and energy to do something great with your life? "I do."
Do you willingly swear to stay involved and fully participate in this major lifelong undertaking? "I do."
By the power of the universe, I now pronounce you an official "Super Achiever?"

Working Together
Now it's time for these two forces to work together to bring about some outstanding results. It's time to put in the work every day to make your dreams come true. Commitment allows you to stay focused on what you want and motivates you to get up every day excited to make something happen.
You are so committed to the idea that you talk about it all the time to friends and family. You find other successful people who have done what you want to do, and even meet a couple of them in person.
Networking at events that pertain to what you want to do is now a part of your professional routine. And you have invested in courses and read books about what it is you want to do. Your commitment is there.
The Magic Formula
Commitment is a fantastic attribute to get the ball rolling but the magic formula reveals itself when you add the other part of the holy alliance; involvement. How much time do you actually spend in the trenches doing the specific activity that you want to be good at?
Are you waking up everyday ready for the grind to exercise your craft to get better? Are you running the sprints and exercising when you are so tired that you can barely move? Are you getting dirty doing the hard work?
If you can say yes to these questions, your are on your way to the fulfillment of a lifetime. You will realize your dreams. You have found that magic formula.
Perfect Match Made In Heaven
The perfect union between commitment and involvement is the marriage that will produce beyond your wildest dreams. One without the other can end in total failure.
To become a Super Achiever, first you have to make up your mind that this is want you want. This initial decision will put you on a completely different path. You will not accept anything less.
Next, making that solid commitment to accomplish your goal will keep you in the marriage for the long haul. That commitment is strong enough to get you out of bed everyday to face whatever comes your way.
Doing the hard work that makes you better and better each day is that part of the union that you can't ignore. Get in the game, participate at every opportunity, and stay involved.
When you keep this holy union working together you will reap the reward of a life of fulfillment and happiness.
When Life Gets Tough - Stay Together
Whenever you set out to build something great, there will be hard times. Sometimes your commitment is there but your active participation begins to wane. Other times you are so involved in other things that your commitment seems to fade.
Get these two back together again. They are better when they work together. Build and nurture each, and your dreams will grow brightly for a lifetime of Super Achievement.
