Have you ever been driving down a road in the rain at night, and the fog is so thick that you can barely see the car in front of you? Talk about scary.
The first thing you do is slow down, sometimes even to a crawl. You don't want any sudden moves to impede your progress any further. It may be so bad that you may have to stop completely to get your bearings. If you could only see better, you'd be just fine.
Trying to maneuver the road of Super Achievement is just as hard without a clear vision for where you want your life to go. The clearer your vision, the easier it is to build a road map to its accomplishment. Without a map, it 's like driving down that foggy street on a rainy night. You may reach your destination, but not without danger at every turn.
Feeling like you're stuck in the mud of everyday routine is often worst than not know where you're going at all. In this case, you know where you want to go, but for some reason, you just can't get there. You can grind day after day doing your routine, but for some reason, you're just not getting anywhere.
What can you do to get going again?
Feeling like you are stuck sometimes comes before a major breakthrough, so be patient with your self. The most important thing is that you keep improving today, what you did yesterday.
If there is one thing that stops a Super Achiever from becoming great, it's the lack of self-confidence. This lack of belief in one's own abilities to bring about the very thing that Super Achievers strive to obtain is difficult without a healthy supply of self confidence.
This lack seems to manifest itself in a person when they hesitate to take that leap when it's time to seal the deal. It doesn't matter how many times you've rehearsed it in your mind, even performed it a hundred times in the practice hall. When the time comes to shine, and your find yourself hiding in a corner, you may be experiencing a lack of confidence.
There are volumes written about this, and yet the surefire cure is not easily found. But I can say, be aware when this monster show it's ugly head. As soon as you spot it, that means some attention is required to work through it.
The issue may be as simple as giving yourself more time and experience to feel really comfortable with your talents. Conversely, there may be some deeply rooted childhood issues that might need addressed with professional. Whatever the case may be, face it like a champion getting ready for battle.
The issue is not that there is not enough time, but it's just that we may need to manage the time we have better.
It is a fact that everyone is given a gift of 24 hours every day to use as we see fit. Everyone gets the same amount every day. The issue is not how much time we have, but rather how can we manage our allotment more effectively to do everything we want.
Time is the most valuable resource we have, because it is non-refundable, irreplaceable, and everyone is given their fair share. With that in mind, it is a great responsibility to learn to use it wisely.
If there is one skill to master in becoming your best self, it is effective time management. You may have to learn to set priorities, schedule your day, and even learn how to say "no" more frequently, but the payoff is worth every minute.
Not knowing what you want is the Super Achiever's nightmare. Because, if you don't know what you want, you are sure to get somewhere. But you may not like your destination.
Surprisingly, I am finding large numbers of people who can't tell you, with certainly, what they want out of life. They don't know what they want to aspire to become, what interests them, where they want to live, or work.
It's as though they want to go on vacation, but don't know where. There are more resources for being anything we want today, than ever before, yet we are unclear. It seems as though not making a decision about anything is becoming a norm, instead of the exception.
Knowing exactly what you want is the first step on the path to Super Achievement. If you are having a difficult time with this, I addressed a chapter of my book, "Are You A Super Achiever?" to help bring more clarity to what you want. It's called the using the "UOM" (Undesirable Outcome Method) to figure out what you want in life.
The "UOM" method helps by getting you to define what you don't want in your life, and using the opposite to come up with an outcome that gives you the best possible scenario for living your ideal life. Gaining absolute clarity is what we want.
Does it matter to you when your enemies never support anything you do? But, when your friend and family hang you out to dry, you may feel a little different. Friends and family are supposed to know you better then anyone else on the planet. Therefore, their support for what you are trying to accomplish means a lot.
What happens when they don't support you?
There will be time when friends and family may have a different opinion about what you are doing. If you are a Super Achiever going for the gold, it is hard sometimes for people to see exactly what you have to do to become your best you. So, an occasional disagreement is sure to happen.
When it get to the point where there are fundamental differences , causing you halt your progress, then, action may be necessary. The danger is that these differences may never go away, leaving you with the weight of dealing with them constantly with any resolution in sight.
By all means, protect yourself from this negativity. Boundaries may need set, relationships may need severed, and we may have to bare some isolation. This is not an easy challenge. But going after something great in your life affects other people in your life differently.
Positive support is like a buoy of life, keeping you afloat when the waters get high. Even if the circle of friends and family gets smaller, make sure your inner circle gives you all the positive support you can get.
In this new digital age, no one can escape the need to keep up with this ever-changing pace of technology. It bombards us everyday, infiltrating every aspect of our lives. For anyone to succeed at any lever, technology is a hurdle we must jump.
For the Super Achiever who wants to master almost anything life has to offer, he has unlimited resources available at his fingertips. These resources come with a small price, which is a simple thing called a learning curve.
No one is born with the technical skills to master this digital world, so the weapon we must use to survive is called learning. For some people who can't get enough of technology, learning my come easy. But for those who have a love-hate relationship, learning may come harder.
To bridge this gap, there are two things to keep in mind. As fast as things change, sooner or latter, everyone will have to start from scratch learning something. Don't feel as if you are isolated in the learning arena. New programs come out everyday, so you are not the only one in learning mode.
And the second thing to remember is to be patient. Grasping new concepts takes time. No one gets it overnight. It takes time and practice to become good at anything. So, take it easy on yourself. Be willing to become a newbie, and learn things you've never done before. The learning never stops until you stop learning..
When you find yourself getting side-tracked on your journey, take some time to revisit these 7 things that can keep you stuck in a rut. Each of them can be overcome. You may need some help to get back on track, but you can overcome them all.
